Defined current industry rock strategy by pioneering fusing of hard and
modern rock to revitalize Pirate Radio with an attack against KROQ. Parent
Infinity is now using the same strategy that was used against them in
Los Angeles, New York and Boston.
Dallas
11/97-5/98
Nationwide Communication's KEGL, was labeled a "stick" by Inside
Radio after The Howard Stern Show was canceled. Joined the team one month
later and assisted in taking KEGL to 3rd 12+ and #2 25-54 Men forcing
heritage competitor KTXQ to change to rhythmic Top 40 --all in less than
6 months.
Washington
3/98-9/00
Judged "unsalvageable" by Critical Mass Media Research immediately
after being purchased by AM-FM, worked with senior management to make
WWDC (DC-101) top tier 12+, 18-34, and 25-54 in less than 6 months. Soundly
beat both modern rock and classic rock competitors.
Boston
3/91-8/02
Grew and stabilized ratings to help signal disadvantaged WAAF grow revenue
and ratings 200% over 36 months. Partnered with programming and sales
to deliver historic ratings and revenue. In Summer of 01 AAF dominated
target male demographic (WAAF was the nation's second FM signal)
Atlanta
10/92-3/93, 4/93-12/98, 2/00-present
Signed on 99X to huge success owning men 25-34. Crossed the street to
work for 96 Rock and helped bring 96 Rock #1 Men 25-34, 25-54 and 18-49
in less than six months. Joined WZGC in 2000 helping to grow ratings for
seven consecutive trends Persons 25-54 and revenue for 8 straight quarters.
Minneapolis
3/95-1/96
Quadrupled audience at signal disadvantaged KREV. Maintained markets best
audience quality (Simmons). Helped grow revenue over 50% building the
stations value for sale over 200% to ABC/Cap Cities.
Indianapolis
3/94-12/96
Helped WRZX develop the only serious threat to perennial market leader
WFBQ. Threat was so serious that RZX was purchased 60 days after adopting
our programming strategy by WFBQ's ownership-- generating a 40% increase
in purchase value for WRZX's ownership.
Albuquerque
9/96-1/98
Flipped lagging Classic Hits format to innovative Modern AC. Moved from
#17 in the market to #2 W18-34, #3 P18-34, #3 P25-54 in just nine months.
Station revenue grew 120% year to year. Owned 'At Work' position with
a perpetual, one-a-kind at work campaign and developed the dominant morning
show in the market that was later featured on Oprah Winfrey.
Santa
Barbara 10/93-11/96
Took A/C station KMGQ literally from worst to first in the coveted 18-49
Female demographic and kept them there for over two years with a revolutionary
version of their old format. This version of A/C is now dominant in Chicago,
San Diego, Denver, and Los Angeles.
