About This Page
When I finished writing this, my nephew asked me a very straight forward question: Why are you trying to publish this as a book, when in it, you so clearly advocate a change in media replication and consumption?
Why indeed. So, for that reason, here it is electronically. For free. Apparently I am now a digital peasant. Yay.
This work is written for the printed page. It is subdivided here to maintain continuity with the written work as well as to aid in linking and indexing–not to purposefully make you click a lot. If you’d like to download the full PDF of Future: Present for your electronic reader or to print out you can do that here. I’m certain there are a number of inconsistencies across the various formats (web, pdf and audio). The Web copy here will always have the most recent version with the most references.
This work cites Wikipedia without apology. The citations are continually reviewed and– despite the histrionics of the media who are most threatened by its existence– are quite accurate (why I believe this). Of course there is a very small chance that a link cited has been vandalized when you read it–but if you can’t tell when a Wikipedia page is been vandalized, than perhaps this is not the book for you. Here’s my Wikipedia page. Sadly, I wish I could say I contributed more to Wikipedia. It is a valuable tool for the incurably curious.
The audio portions are by chapter. I’ll be dividing the audio further in a few months. When I’m done editing, those of you who want shorter sections, will be able to find them in serial podcast form over at iTunes. The current audio portions can’t be longer because of continuity and file size issues. FYI–There are roughly five hours of audio across the eleven chapters.
Thanks for visiting.
PS. If you are interested in paying for a printed copy, let me know. You can always buy me a beer or cup of coffee if you’d like.
